I magine my surprise when as a healthy and active 50 year old, that the strange sensations and olfactory hallucinations (think strong pink bubble gum) were the result of a tumor on my right mid-temporal lobe. Imagine my surprise when after the surgery to remove the tumor that it was a glio blastoma, one of the most agressive brain cancers out there. Well, in my typical stubborn way, I said that there was no way the cancer was going to beat me. It picked the wrong person to mess with. So far after amazing care from amazing doctors, physician assistants, and nurses, I remain upright, pulling fuill days at work, and keeping a halfway decent program of exercise. Every day I recognize how blessed I am that I remain active, coherent, strong, and ready to fight. i hope as many of you as can join me in this fight against brain cancer and provide support as you are able. I know that those who came before me who made support of brain cancer research part of their philanthropy are a primary reason I feel the way I do know. I hope that you will join me in paying it forward so that some day, soon, we have a cure.
